Hi everyone, Mike from Methuen here. I decided to start this blog for several reasons. First of all, to further connect with all my fans who have supported my antics at local sporting events in the Greater Boston area. Second, to all the dedicated WEEI listeners who have enjoyed my frequent calls and whines over the years. Third, and most importantly, I'd like to thank God for blessing me with the good fortune of having such a good looking and athletically gifted family. Without that, I don't think this whole sports antics thing would make much sense at all.
Oh yeah, I forgot the MAIN reason I started this blog. I have recently become very frustrated with WEEI's decision to stop taking my calls. Because of this, I have decided to start a blog. I figured I can build on the ever-growing popularity of the "Mike from Methuen" name.
Once I gain enough support, we'll launch our own radio station. The way I see it, we can begin every day with a killer morning radio show that actually talks about sports, not politics. Now, just stop and think about that for a minute. A sports radio station that actually talks about sports. Now that's a concept, isn't it?
Of course, I'm getting ahead of myself here. First, we need to establish a strong grassroots movement. For now, I'll do my best to entertain you guys. There will be plenty of insightful commentary regarding the local and national sports scene. And of course, I promise to offer plenty of playful commentary on the dysfunctional radio station: WEEI.
