It was good seeing a lot of you out last night. There were 2 full court games going. Unfortunately for me, I was 1 and done twice before throwing in the towel and hitting up the gym. Since it's so nice out today, I'm going to try my luck again after work. I'll be there 6-6:30. Hope to see a lot of you there.

Week 5/17-5/23

This past weekend was perfect for pick-up. I personally made it out Friday evening and Saturday afternoon to play. For the most part, there were 2 full court games going at all times. I'm sure there was even more action throughout the weekend.

Anyway, another Monday is upon us and with that comes endless possibilities to get together and play some ball. Our trusty blog weather forecast tell us Tuesday and Wednesday look like great options to play. I'm playing poker after work Tuesday, so I'm throwing a vote down to play Wednesday...BUT don't let that deter you from initiating a game Tuesday.

Hope people can play Wednesday though. I'll probably get there 6-6:30. Let's try to have a repeat performance of last Wednesday when we played until 9...the last game going to 31 (all by 1's).

May 13th - A Kennedy School Basketball SLAY SESSION!

Hey -

Shout out to all you guys who came out to the courts on Wednesday night, May 13th. We played solidly from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., mixing 4-on-4, with 5-on-5 full court games throughout the night.

We also met up with some newbies, which was great to see.

Again, we encourage all to comment on the blog, create posts, and use the shit out of this thing. It appears from our poll that Saturday afternoon is the most popular time to play - so let's do it.

Inaugural Post: Somerville Pick-Up Bball 2.0

The old "Mike From Methuen" blog is now the "Kennedy School Pick-Up Basketball" blog. You will find previous blog posts below, so feel free to read and make fun of me.

Anyway, I added a Somerville weather gadget to this blog--figured this will help us all determine what days are best to play--and a Google Maps gadget for any new people that need to get directions to the courts (the address is included as well). Please chime in with suggestions for the blog and, more importantly, start commenting on when you will be hitting up the Kennedy School basketball courts.

This blog is meant to be an open forum/message board to replace the existing email chain we have going. An example post could be "Hey, I'm heading over to the courts in a few hours. If anyone is interested, I'll be there from 6-8."

I figured this would be easier for people to follow, more interactive and fun. As time goes on, we can add a lot to this blog...maybe even keep track of a pick-up league with stats and everything. OK, that may be too much, but you get the point. Just thinking out loud. Now it's your turn...
